- aka RftP - 6th graders in the fall of 2008

Bronze Award -
We're looking for two parents to mentor interested girls. More
information is in the Jr Handbook.

Thinking Day -
Girls are to start thinking of a country that hasn't been done
they'd like to present. As a troop we've done Russia, Great
Britain and Scotland. As a Service Unit (SU) China, Japan,
Ireland, Spain, Peru, France, Germany, and Korea are what I can
remember from the past Thinking Days.

With the council
realignment our girls are losing a year - interested girls will
start planning their Bronze Award, 5th graders will also be
working on requirements for bridging to Cadettes in the Spring.
With all this going on I'm upping Parent/Girl responsibility -
If you miss a meeting, it's your responsibility to check the
website for meeting minutes - posted late Wed evening or early

Sept 8 - SU BBQ at
Monument Valley Park from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Price: $2 for
registered scouts and girl buddies*, leaders, adults. $3 for
non-registered tag-a-longs.

*Note: Buddies
should be girls that are potential new scouts.

Activities will
include face painting, games, demonstration by a Colorado
Springs Police Dog Handler (the only female handler in town!).
-
Please bring a
canned good as a donation for face painting. Donations will be
given to Care and Share.

Car pooling
arrangements can be made.
-
This year the
girls will be leading the badge work and have voted on what
badges they wanted. Each badge requires 6 objectives be
completed. Some girls may need parent assistance, please look
over the badge with your daughter and call me - 278-3522 or
email me -
troop401@msn.com with needed supplies 1 week in advance.
Some badge work can be completed on field trips or camping
trips.
