Reiterated starting Sept we were only meeting the first 3 Wed of each month.

 

 Thinking Day - Girls are to start thinking of a country that hasn't been done they'd like to present.  As a troop we've done Russia, Great Britain and Scotland.  As a Service Unit (SU) China, Japan, Ireland, Spain, Peru, France, Germany, and Korea are what I can remember from the past Thinking Days.  Last night, Hungary was suggested as a country.  Interested countries need to have Girl Guides already in place. www.wagggs.org is a great place to start researching

 

With the council realignment our girls are losing a year - interested girls will start planning their Bronze Award, 5th graders will also be working on requirements for bridging to Cadettes in the Spring.  With all this going on I'm upping Parent/Girl responsibility - If you miss a meeting, it's your responsibility to check the website for meeting minutes - posted late Wed evening or early Thur.  www.gstroop401.com.  If I call you, please return my call within 48 hrs, If I email you, please return my email ( troop401@msn.com  ) within  48 hrs.

Bronze Award - There are 3 girls interested, we're still looking for a parent mentor.

Field Trip Activity - Our 1st field trip will be to the Painted Mines in Calhan.  Permission slips will go home next week.

We started working on GS in the USA, #1, # 3 were completed.  If your daughter didn’t bring her handbook, please sit down with them and fill in the ceremonies section, I believe it's page 12.  Each girl is encouraged to write a poem for our Oct 1 rededication ceremony.

50's Sock Hop - Oct 5th from 6 - 9pm at Sunrise United Methodist Church - 2655 Briargate Blvd (Same place as last year)

Cost is $5 per person if received by Sept 14, $6.00 per person if received between Sept 15 - Sept 23.  No registrations accepted after Sept 23.  

*Bring a Friend*  Must be eligible to join Girl Scouts

Each girl needs to bring a new pair of socks to be donated to One Walking Nation.
